THE DUNBAR SPEAKEASY
A series of monthly talks on all aspects of the arts from an exciting line-up of artists, musicians, crafts people, writers, dancers, film-makers, curators, thinkers, arts therapists and commissioners.
Come and join us for a lively presentation followed by a drink and some relaxed conversation at The Dunbar Speakeasy, in the Community Room of Dunbar Townhouse Museum on Dunbar High Street.
The first in the series is to be presented by Colin Will.
Thursday 27th September, 7-9pm. DUNBAR – A PLACE TO WRITE. Colin Will has had five poetry collections published, with a sixth coming from Red Squirrel Press in September 2012. He conducts readings and workshops throughout the UK, in schools, adult groups and mental health groups. He has chaired the boards of the StAnza Poetry Festival and the Scottish Poetry Library, and was Makar to the Federation of Writers (Scotland) in 2010. He is also a publisher, under the name Calder Wood Press. He lives in Dunbar, where he co-founded the Dunbar Writers group. He has travelled widely within Europe, and he has also visited the USA, Japan, China and Tibet. His themes reflect a love of people and the natural world, often in language derived from his scientific background.
